About The Magic Lion Appeal
Every day, children and young people in Hampshire need care and support.
The Magic Lion Appeal aims to enhance hospital care for children and young people in Hampshire through improvements to our child health department at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT). By raising funds, we’re supporting a reconfiguration of child health space in Winchester and upgrades in Basingstoke, Andover and Alton. This will allow our patients to be seen in an environment that ensures they get the best possible care in a way that suits their needs.
For all of us, coming into hospital can be scary. We want to make sure that whether it’s a first time visit or a routine appointment, children, young people and their families feel comfortable, safe and at ease when visiting HHFT.
We can’t do it without your help
We want to ensure that we’re continually improving care for every patient seen in child health. Your help will enable us to:
Reconfigure our spaces to allow patients greater space to be seen, meaning children and young people feel more comfortable in hospital
Access patients quicker and easier, improving timeliness
Decorate our wards to create a brighter, friendlier environment that is suitable for all ages
Keep up with the increase in patients and demand on our services
Invest further in equipment, ensuring areas are fit for the future
